Sri Anuvavi Anjaneyar

In Sanskrit, 'Hanu' means 'Jaw' and 'Man' means 'Disfigured'. Popularly the word “Anjaneyar” in Tamil language says about courage, wisdom and faithfulness. Anjaneyar is the very embodiment of “Bhakthi”, (devotion) "The Bhaktha of Bhakthas". His adoration of the incarnate divinity of Lord Rama is absolute. He is worshipped for various benefits: mental and physical health, wealth, happiness, fulfilment of desires, success and accomplishments and courage to face the challenges in Life.

Sri Anuvavi Anjaneyar is centred in the essence of Advaita Vedanta Philosophy. Sri Anuvavi Anjaneyar is in “praying” form (hand-folded) where he discriminates duality and praises oneness. The concept of “Aham Brahmasmi” “I am that”, that says the oneness of the reality of the existence. The “Brahman” that is eternal, formless and beyond delusion. According to Advaita philosophy, only Brahman is real, the world is a delusion. Atman is Brahman only.

The “Rig Veda” declares “Ekam Sat”, Truth is One.

They called him Indra, Mitra, Varuna, Agni and he is the heavenly bird of beautiful wings. The truth is one. The sages call it by many names and describe it in many ways, hence they call it Agni, Yama and Matraisvan. - Rig Veda 1.164.46

The Epic Ramayana gives an indepth explanation to understand about Sri Hanuman,

Rama asks Hanuman “How do you perceive me as?”

Sri Raam Bhakth Hanuman answered thus:

Deha Buddhya tu Dasoham Jiva Buddhya Tvadaamsakah |
Atma Buddhya Tvamevaham iti me nishchita matih ||

“Oh Lord, while I identify myself with my body, I am your servant. When I consider myself as Individual Soul, I am Your part. But when I look upon myself as the Spirit, I am one with You.”

“The Philosophy of Hanuman says “Atma buddhyā tvame vāham” (the relationship with Lord Raam is explained). It means – O Rama, when seen from point of the inner most self, I am you and You are me. I am not able to see any forms of differences’.

“Oh Lord, while I identify myself with my body, I am your servant. When I consider myself as Individual Soul, I am Your part. But when I look upon myself as the Spirit, I am one with You.”

The worship of Sri Anuvavi Anjaneyar with total concentration and devotion, one experiences all the three states of dualism (dvaita), non-dualism (advaita) and conditional non-dualism (visishta-advaita). If one listens to the story of Sri Hanuman, it appears to be dualistic.

When one intensely worship Him, feelings of dualism vanish away in totality, and Hanuman blesses us with complete feelings of oneness (non-dualism). The innermost perceptions are that of conditional non-dualism. The concepts of advaita, dvaita and vishista-advaita are tangled here. Sri Hanuman bestows one with a fruit called non-dualism!

With continuous worship of Sri Anuvavi Anjaneyar brings this ultimate wisdom. The core Philosophy and concept of “Ekam Sat” is also perceived in the presence of Sri Anuvavi Anjaneyar Nandhavanam.
